FDIC and IRS to Host Webinar on VITA Partnerships, Community Reinvestment, and Financial Empowerment
Access to free tax preparation can help low- and moderate-income families keep more of their hard-earned money and take important steps toward financial stability. To help expand these opportunities, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will host a webinar focused on strengthening partnerships between banks and nonprofit organizations to grow Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs across the Midwest.
Date: November 3, 2026
Time: 9:30 AM-11 AM CT
Speakers will include representatives from both the IRS and FDIC, bringing expertise in stakeholder engagement, community affairs, financial institution examination, and account access.
By strengthening collaboration among financial institutions and nonprofit organizations, these efforts can help expand access to free tax assistance while connecting families with resources that support greater financial security.
